Zocalo is a growing plant and flower gallery nestled in Edmonton’s Little Italy. Zocalo is undergoing a transition after a fire earlier in the year. We are focusing and simplifying our departments for ease of operations and in the interest of building new partnerships with up-and-coming entrepreneurs.

Zocalo would provide you with:

• The space, equipment, and point-of-sale and infrastructure to operate your new floral business.
• Advice and mentorship with seasoned floral retailers.
• Robust customer base from which to build your business
• Ease of mind regarding space and facility issues.
• Stability of a proven brand and continued marketing.
• Fair, reasonable and renovated space at below-market rates.
• Awesome partners with whom to grow!

Your new business would get to focus on growing your own business:

• You would be your own boss and responsible for all artistic and product decisions, staffing, and floral customer service.
• Create your own in-store displays and maintenance.
• All fresh and supplied products would be your choice and responsibility.
• You would, basically, sub-lease space inside a proven business and grow your own floral business. (Details to be worked out and finalized).
• Opportunities for additional signage and marketing to showcase your brand (depending on how you wish to market your new business).

Zocalo is a growing plant, gift and flower gallery, with a café, nestled in Edmonton’s Little Italy. Zocalo is undergoing a transition after a fire earlier in the year. We are focusing and simplifying our departments for ease of operations and in the interest of building new partnerships with up-and-coming entrepreneurs.

Zocalo would provide you with:

• The lovely green oasis space for your customers to sit and enjoy
• The basic equipment, point-of-sale and infrastructure to operate your new cafe business.
• Advice and mentorship with seasoned café operators and retailers (if desired).
• Robust customer base from which to build your business
• Ease of mind regarding space and facility issues.
• Stability of a proven brand and continued marketing.
• Fair, reasonable and renovated space at below-market rates.

PLANT EXPERT

Do you love plants? Do you have experience in horticulture or greenhouse work? If you like people, love plants, enjoy great variety, awesome atmosphere and opportunities for new challenges, Zocalo is the place for you.

Zocalo’s high-energy team needs an experienced customer service person or plant aficionado who is keen to do everything from taking care of indoor and outdoor plants, planting containers, helping customers with plant questions and overall care of the greenhouse. Truly a highly varied position in a fun, busy, urban environment. Zocalo is a growing plant and flower gallery nestled in Edmonton’s Little Italy.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Plant care (e.g., watering, deadheading, pest control)
• Assisting customers with plant and garden questions
• Overall maintenance and cleanliness of the greenhouse, yard and storage areas
• Plant arrangements and custom orders
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service, develop and foster relationships with customers

Experience is preferred, but training is provided. A full-time position, but would consider a part-time position for the right applicant. No evenings, but must be able to work weekends. Salary, bonuses and benefits commensurate with experience.
